When it comes to beauty products, few things have become very important to me in the last few years, and its that they need to be: cruelty-free, Paraben- free, and has no associations with groups that I don’t necessarily agree with. It seems to be a tall order, but its gotten a lot easier to find products that fulfill all of these qualifications.
Here’s my current winter face cleanse + moisturise routine:
Laneige Water Sleeping Pack - I’ve been using this for years… it’s super light weight and cool to the skin, so winter and summer, 2x a week, its perfect to give you extra hydration.
Supergoop! Save Face Serum SPF 30+ - All- year long, I wear sunscreen, and this season, this is my favorite. Its also lightweight, but it has moisturiser, antiaging, and a pretty high everyday SPF. Also, dries fast enough that you can put on make-up almost right away.
The Face Shop Body Oil Lotion- Most of the best skin products usually get their start in Asian markets (BB Creams and CC creams, anyone?), that’s because we really put an emphasis on maintaining our skin. The ‘oil lotion’ thing is just getting its start here in the US, but luckily, this Korean beauty store has been stocked already, and it won’t break the bank! The oil lotion is such a god-send for winter dry skin… its a dry oil, and combined with creamy lotion, slather it on, and see the difference right away.
Laneige Perfect Renew Essence EX - For everyday moisture, day and night, this is the perfect solution. Its firming moisturising serum, and light enough to go under make-up during the day.
100% Pure Lavender Honey Facial Cleansing Foam - It was really hard to find a face wash that didn’t strip your skin, on top of the list I had to have in order to use it, but this one is perfect. You can actually feel that your skin doesn’t get tight and stripped as your washing, and it can actually scrub make-up off too!
If you’d like to have a clean beauty routine as well, I suggest the free apps, Think Dirty and Buycott. Think Dirty actually lists all the ingredients in the products after scanning its bar code, and you’ll faint from all the sh•t that you’ve been putting on your face. Buycott, isn’t only for beauty, but also for practically anything at the grocery! It gives you the product’s family tree and if its supporting organizations that you might not agree with.
A great start to a new year!
